[“In the tombs, / administrative mummies” – Latif Asad Abdullah]

       An explorer finds the ancient administrator’s scrolls. In the last one, the administrator laments that no one reads his scrolls, no matter how grammatical their hieroglyphs, how wise their admonitions, and now no one ever will.

       But the explorer donates these scrolls to a museum, and its scholars translate them carefully.

       At last the administrator’s words have been read. He can now disappear into the heavens, his life fulfilled.
