[“The quiet things of the world are being drawn into our pervasive love of interactivity.” – Laurence Scott]
My stamp collection has been fitted out with sound, now, thanks to a gift from a friend. My collection’s main interest is a series of human heads, each facing left. These are valuable, because on most stamps with heads, the heads are facing right.
I arrange my stamps so left faces are staring at right faces, one or more right faces at left. They compare each others’ denominations, casually converse about a postmark, an unfortunately heavy cancellation, or a slight tear – a loss of value but a sign of valor, ready for a condescending remark.
