It’s peaceful and quiet here in this middleplace the ancients called Limbo. Not the brilliant, scary light of Heaven, nor the despair, even of those in charge, of Hell.
So I told the authorities I’d like to stay here, make myself useful if I could, not have to face, one more day, that awful choice between one
foreign, forgiving place
and the other
foreign, unforgiving place.
