No, I’m not a robot, but I discovered a feelings-selector button yesterday, deep down inside me. Fear was the first item on the list. Hurrying past that, I discovered Dismay, and Stupefaction, and Horror, and Despair, and many other terrifying choices.
At last, I found the very last feeling on the list: Resignation.
I jabbed fiercely at the button, before the list could begin from the top again, starting with Fear. Perhaps being stuck there.
