We scan the book quickly, fearing that myths whispered about us will make us the monsters, not their gallant foes, that we might be portrayed as those who run away before phantoms.
But no, none of that. We do not run before phantoms only because we are not in that book, nor any others.
We do not find even blank pages where we could – quietly – write what we modestly boast.
