[“We want to take nothing more to heart, we want to pray to the mask” – Nietzsche]
The mask does not change. It does not bless us with sun one day, ruin us with wind and hail the next, as other gods do.
Often, it does not give us enough to eat, but it does not demand the sacrifice of our grain and cattle and firstborn, so we reluctantly praise it.
What is behind the mask of God?
Nothing, we hope.
