       The restaurant’s strolling violinist plays a different tune for each course: a hopeful one for the soup, brave and confident for the entrée, legato but sad and betrayed for the sides.

       A diner requests something for the soufflé and the fiddler responds, a little flat.

       And then just desserts, as the violinist has left.
