“Undertaker” is a word that’s now been buried in that special hell that includes “darky,” “idiot,” and “cripple,” but I don’t remember what the current evasion-word for it is. I may find out shortly, but too late.
It’s amusing that “undertaker” was itself an evasive word for one who undertakes to do something … implied but not stated … something to do with taking someone underground … hopefully just a few feet deep, not … down
