The explorer found the ancient administrator’s scrolls. In the last one, the administrator laments that no one ever reads his scrolls, no matter how grammatical their hieroglyphs, how wise their admonitions, and now no one ever will.

But the explorer donated these scrolls to a museum, and its scholars translated them carefully.

At last the administrator’s words had been read. He could now disappear into the heavens, his life fulfilled.
