“The Innocence Game” / Memorable Fancies #2294

In the Innocence Game there is no apparent correlation between skill and results. No one knows what the scoring system is, and no one can see the results of his efforts.

There used to be training in what were believed to be winning techniques: mental exercises, chanting, stretching, ,… but these were gradually abandoned.

There used to be training, also, in understanding the results of the game, determining whether you won or lost. This, too, was ultimately abandoned as inconclusive.

“And so the people of Babylon ended up preferring the chance distribution of destinies, because it left them free to act in total innocence.” – Jean Baudrillard
