“My Statues” / Memorable Fancies #2279

[“I have my statues. Each year their marble grows harder, whiter, against the dark ground of lost forms.” – Henri Michaux]

Some day I will be next, I suppose, now that my father the king has died, been encased in marble and placed upright in the high temple. I should go there now to pay my respects. I hope the seals are tight, and that he does not begin to leak out around the joins, resume his lost form, resume his tyranny – over me.
