Actually, it was the same man. Antiphon failed in one career after another. He began as an orator, but had a soft voice and could not be heard over the boos of the crowd. He took up being a sophist, then, arguing for or against any opinion depending on who had given him money most recently. But he failed to win over his audiences, and his sponsors deserted him. Finally, in despair, he hung himself. This was his career as a tragedian…
