“Guilty Decisions – 2” / Memorable Fancies #2032

[“…the seriousness of decisions, which make one guilty either way.” – Heidegger]

The problem isn’t that you’ve made the wrong decision, but that decision-making is itself an indication of deep human guilt, a need for a finality that never, at last, is final enough.

Make a plan, what to do,

where to stay and when.

Who’s got HBO, heated pool, CNN?

Count the hours, see the sights –

But next time …

Sleep where night finds you,

trusting in gods you wish there were.

Flip a coin,

still end over end

walk away.
