Lost in the mall at age five – the universal American false memory. But it actually happened. Mothers were persuaded to ‘lose track’ of their children for up to an hour, while Mall security escorted the boys and girls to secret re-education centers deep below the anchor department store. The procedure was quick and (usually) painless, and the children were then re-united with their parents.
