“A Hundred Mirrors” / Memorable Fancies 1201

[“I could probably say that I’m free of the mirror now.” – Richard Diebenkorn]

     I’m finally rid of the mirror, its diktat of who I am, not only the face but its expression too, the scowl as it contemplates itself. That wasn’t me. I’m inside facing out, you know, not outside facing in.

     But the remains of the mirror lie on the floor now, a hundred mirrors, a hundred “me”s.
