“Plumbing the Depths of Emotion” / Memorable Fancies #1086

Plumbers hear sounds of weeping in the water pipes of the old house. Frantically they tear the plumbing apart, but the sound always seems to recede. Gradually, having exhausted the pipes of the house, they find themselves underground, in the branch lines, then the mains. Still the sound is heard. Deeper, as channels converge, older segments dating to the 1800’s – the 1700’s’ – are discovered, explored. But no one is there. In frustration, the plumbers weep. Their voices are heard…
