“White Thoughts” / Memorable Fancies #1048

     At first, we avoid telling others our secrets; we tell them only to ourselves, alone in the quiet night. And then we cease telling ourselves these secrets, too, as the night has proved too dark for us, the silence too harsh. Eventually we walk from place to place, seeing and hearing only, white thoughts like white noise telling us we’ve never had any secrets, at all. None worth thinking about, surely.
