“Symbols” / Memorable Fancies #672

[“Death threats. My curious reaction.” – Albert Camus]

It’s all symbolic, you know, these threats and imprecations. Like “go to hell.” Even if there were a hell, I couldn’t just pack up and go there. And like “go fuck yourself,” which is a mutation perhaps to be desired, but until then I’ll have to make do with other people.
That brings us to your recent communication, “I’m going to kill you.” That’s symbolic too, you know. It’s an expression of extreme disapproval. I know you looked at me very sincerely when you said “I’m going to kill you,” but couldn’t I just settle for some other symbolic thing instead? Please?
