We lay on a hillside and watched the clouds go by, telling each other what each looked like. Here a lamb, there a face. Here a procession of elephants, there – a spaceship. You’re right, she said, I guess maybe it does look like a spaceship. If you squint a little, maybe. It’s getting closer, I said. You and your damn sci-fi, she said. Flame is erupting from it and coming in our direction, I said. You and your imagination, she said, sometimes I think you’re sick. Almost, I wanted her to be right.
